Learn about the 2011 Family Nature Summit,
August 1 - 7, 2011,
at the YMCA of the Ozarks in Potosi, Missouri!
Explore the Ozarks
The Ozark Mountain Region is rugged, natural wonder. The 2011 Family Nature Summit lies at the heart of the Ozarks. We will be surrounded by lush mountains and plateaus, magnificent waterfalls, winding rivers and lakes, and endless caves and caverns.
Amidst this beauty, Summiteers will learn about the wonders of these ecosystems and their inhabitants. The Ozarks host a whole range of flora and fauna. Bobcats, rattlesnakes, and coyotes are at the top of the food chain. White tailed deer, black bear, gray fox, and an array of birds, bats, and bugs also make their home in the Ozarks. Maple, pine, apple, and dogwood trees make up the forest, along with mushrooms and wildflowers. The human inhabitants are just as diverse, and well known for their history and culture.
Come one, come all, and explore the Ozarks in 2011. Together, we will paddle, observe, hike, photograph, spelunk, listen, learn, and discover.
